Walk the Land

Painting the Holy Land, one verse at a time

My story

לאט לאט, למדתי לראות

For a long time my days ran ahead of me. Alarms, lists, a phone always lit, and a quiet tiredness I had stopped noticing. I wasn’t unhappy, exactly. I just wasn’t really looking at anything.

The change came slowly. A borrowed Bible on my nightstand. A psalm read twice because the first time I hadn’t heard it. Then walks: early mornings in the Galilee, long afternoons in the Judean hills, sitting on warm stones and letting the silence be enough.

One day I brought a small box of watercolors with me. I wasn’t good, and that was the gift. Painting made me stay. To paint an olive tree you have to watch how the light moves through it, and somewhere in all that watching, I began to see my own life differently too.

My mornings are slower now. Coffee by the window, a verse, a brush in murky water. I paint the land as I find it, and I write beside it the words that carried me here. I share them in the hope that they bring a little light and gratitude into your home, as they did into mine.
